Worksafe BC and Compensation Board of Alberta allows for injured workers to be retrained in light duty careers. The crane industry is perfect for any of those workers; on average most outrigger pads weigh 30-45 pounds and you will be required use a two step ladder onto the truck bed from the ground. During this course you will run a minimum of 3 different types of crane and be certified in the highest level of rigging available in BC. You will be leaving our course with more crane experience than some 1st and 2nd year crane operators.
The biggest disadvantage to getting a crane job is lack of experience, but by going through our programs, we will give you all that experience. After you will just need to work on your own personal crane control skills.
